Default G37 Brakes on 350z

How much better is the G37 Brakes consider then the OEM Brembo and Non-Brembo brakes. How much does it cost to do the swap, is it a cheap alternative to doing a BBK and how hard is it to swap?

Considering the front 14" 1 pc rotor weighs 28lbs, I'll pass. If they come out with a 2pc version, that would be a killer combo.
You would have to dig around for the new G37 60-0 / 100-0 brake specs to see how they perform. Although the G37 is a tad heavier nowdays.

If you have the O.E BREMBO's, I'd stick with that. If you have non-BREMBO, it is a cheaper alternative. The components of the G37S brakes are pretty cheap and you will probably get better modulation as well as a higher capacity for heat dissipation with the G37S brakes.

Okay so the OEM brembos are better than the G37 Brakes?

lol fishing for one of those over-simplified somewhat inaccurate elementary school answers? do you track the car any? or are you just looking to fill the gap inside the wheels to make your car look cool?

I guess better is a strong word in this case. It is probably better in certain ways as far as quality and build but I wouldn't be so quick to say that they would perform better, that is still unsure.

Not a great test, I guess it's hinting that the brakes aren't that great? Standard 335i brakes kicked it's ***...

How much would it be on all four corners? Still better than my stock base brakes...

You can get the G37 BBK from us for under $2k, all you'll need are the custom brackets for the fronts, the rears bolt right up. Zack at rarejdm.com can get you the brackets for the fronts for about 6 bills, so all in all you're spending $2600 or less for a brand new BBK

From what some of the magazines were saying regarding the 335 vs the G37 sport when the G37 first came out, the brakes on the G37 worked surprisingly well. We upgrade our kits to include Motul RBF 600 fluid as well to help with fade

This is what I am doing, just waiting to hear back from Zack regarding getting an order in for the bracket.

that video didnt seem biased at all

sounds like edmunds picked a winner before they even did the test. They point out that they have the most optioned out G37 and the most basic 335i just to get withing 3800 bucks of each other. Then they call the g37 a wannabe.

According to the specs I saw:

G37s 60-0 110 ft.
brembo 60-0 112 ft.
350z 07up 60-0 112 ft.
350z earlier 60-0 115 ft.

the curb weight of the G37s is listed at 3770lbs., while the enthuasist z is listed at 3339lbs. So the z appears to be 431lbs. lighter then the G, so the car should stop even shorter.

That I believe is for the complete kit front and rear. That is what I was going to do, since the G37s complete kit is cheaper then just the fronts of most BBKs.

I think I'd rather go with the Wilwood BBK kit for $900.

are you sure because I weighed my stoptech 355mm rotor still attached to the caliper and brake line and it weighs 29lbs

60-0 and 100-0 tests wont show you how much better they work. It will show you which car has more grip though, and which car weighs more

Well you'll have to ask the OP for their definition of "better". The brake dist test is the usual parameter for a street driven car. I guess the greater mass of the G37 rotor + the 14" diameter should give great brake force and fade resistance but the op should ask himself if it's worth the weight penalty
