Just got my Power Bleeder. Where can I get the hoses to drain the fluid?

It should have come with a short length of hose but you can always find more at Home Depot or any auto parts store.

Piece of hose and a gear oil bottle works great

It did come with a little hose but just to be safe I think I should get some more. I'll check Home Depot. Thanks!

I have the 1107 Ford 3-prong adapter but it's not holding pressure. I pumped to 10psi and air would leak out completely in about 3-5 mins. I made sure the cap was on all the way and there is nothing between the M/C and the cap. Has anyone experienced the samething? Are you not having any leaks at all? I can hear a loud hissing noise as soon as I go beyond 5psi. Is my cap defective?

It could be but the more likely problem is that it not on tight enough. You have to really crank down on the cap to get it on and get it sealed tight.

I will try to make it tighter, but I can't really turn it further with any reasonable force. It feels like I will break something. Maybe adding some sort of gasket under the cap to provide a better seal? Has anyone tried that?

You have to push down on it at the same time you turn. An extra gasket will only make it harder to push down on.

So I tried to turn it further to tighten it but it became loose and kept spinning. So I gave up on the 1107 adapter and went back to my old 1101 J-Hook adapter.

The 1101 worked fine and held pressure for the whole day so I was able to check for leaks in my Stoptech brake system. I positioned the chain under the metal master cylinder, in front of the sensor wire and behind the hard brake line. I also made sure the cap was centered for a good seal. It worked perfectly and was very easy.

Personally I would say don't bother with the 1107 and just go with 1101. 1101 is a universal adapter and will work on many cars, so it's a better investment. I wish I didn't waste time and money getting the 1107 adapter.

I would suspect a real shop would use a professional level bleeder. That has a large reservoir and a connection to compressed air so you don't have to pump it up constantly.

You're not going to be spending hundreds, the Motive can be found for around $60.

I love my motive........used it again today on my Nissan Xterra.......really needed it...been lazy and had not taken time to do this - been having spongy soft pedal that would drop way to far down to the floor board before braking.

I used my motive and got a lot of air out of my lines and fluid was dark. inspected for leaks and checked all seals and i think its just texas heat and age of fluid.

very strong feel now.....paired with wagner thermoquiet brake pads and my Xterra is stopping great.

I did a little write up over on the UK site as well, using a very similar product to the Motive bleeder:
