Default Motive Power Bleeder opinions?

I'm thinking about picking one of these up. Anyone have opinions / personal experience with them? Is 100 bucks (system plus the catch container) worth it or should I just take some ATE Blue over to the local shop and get them to do it?

Definitely worth it. Makes the job super easy. I got mine with a catch bottle for less than 100 I think. Plus if you track your car you'll be changing brake fluid at least once a year

That's what I figured. I have been autocrossing about once every 2 months. Thanks for the response.

For the money it's definitely worth it. $58 from JSC Speed CLICK HERE Get the model 0107 that fits the Nissan brake MC.

I have to agree with everyone else. I bought it last spring when I upgraded to OEM brembos, and it was the easiest I have ever bled brakes.

Works on the clutch too, you just have to hold it in place since it doesn't latch on. Makes bleeding the clutch easy also.

It's totally worth it! Best $55 I've ever spent (picked up from JSC Speed since they're local to me). You don't need to buy to catch can, use an empty water bottle with a drilled hole on the cap and a clear hose and save yourself some $$$. For bleeding the clutch, I used 2 regular zip ties to tie the cap to the MC reservoir and it stayed on securely. Took me only 15 mins to bleed all 4 brakes and clutch.
NOTE: Always release pressure before you take the cap off or you're gonna have brake fluid spilled on your paint and it will not look the same ever again if you don't wash it off immediately.

Well I ordered the Power bleeder and tested it out today. Everything looks to be good and pressure seems to be holding. Two questions, I bought two liters of ATE Blue, will this be enough fluid for a complete fluid change? Also, I believe the front bleed valve is a 10mm and the rears are 8mm on my 03 Touring non brembo.

And one last question, when the power bleeder is under pressure, it only releases the fluid into the reservoir when you open the bleed valves, correct?

Thank for the help.

Two liters/quarts are about what I normally use to do a full flush and there always some left in the tank when I'm done.

Correct, fluid should only flow when you open a bleed valve. Otherwise, that means you've got a leak somewhere, especially if you're trying the universal adapter rather than the 1107 Nissan cap adapter.

Full flush on mine, 1/2 liter. Its really nice with ATE Blue, you can visually see where there old fluid ends and the blue begins.

I went to Advance auto bought a one man brake fluid bleeder kit for less than $10.00 then went back home installed my stoptech brake lines and bleeded completely all four lines by myself with the kit and in less than 2 hours i was driving the z again.

edit; the sucky part is it doesnt come with any system so you gotta pump the brakes then check the line connected to the bottle looking for air bubbles through the line lol it sucked but it worked perfectly

Update: Well I have to give the Motive Power Bleeder a good recommendation. Everything went well and quickly (like less than 30 minutes). I remember one of you ciphoned out some fluid b/c the level was above MAX, is this crucial? Mine is above the line also.

It's not crucial but it might allow spillage through the vent hole as it heats. That would drip down inside the housing.

I heart the motive power bleeder............

I usually need to pour 2 bottles in, and yes, there is usually some left over in the container, but i wouldn't wanna risk it running out..

I did this mod to do my clutch with ease and a secure cap, versus worrying of it breaking seal or coming off:
https://my350z.com/forum/engine-driv...ghlight=clutch

For me the reservoir does stay past the full mark, i siphon a bit out when done.

I use normally one full liter for all four but its nice to have a second. I opted for the Motive catch bottles (2 for $25) and each one can hold about 2 wheels worth of fluid. I can bleed with the wheels on and it take 10-15 mins. for all four (just be careful with the wheel finish). Haven't tried it for the clutch but I may try it shortly.

So glad I ran into this review. I saw this being used on some domestic car on the speed channel. I was wondering if anyone was using it. Now I know. I'll be placing my order this friday. Anyone experience any problems or concerns before using I use it for the first time?
