Default Kinetix V2 A Arms CREAAAK

I have the Kinetix a arms v2(silver with red poly bushings) and my driver's side just recently started creaking. I know this is said to happen over time, but I have only had them on for a month and change. I loosened the 2 bolts that mount them and pumped grease into the Zerk fittings and re-torqued them down. I'm lowered on GF210s. Does anyone have any suggestions that will quiet or eliminate the creak? I plan on removing and lubing up all surfaces, but wont be able to do this till the weekend, so I thought I'd poll the boards for any guidance. Thanks in advance

Kinetix has disappointed us consistently over the years: upper plenums that do nothing, catalytic converters that fail internally, and now junk A-arms. Should anyone be surprised.

Yep I am having the same issue with mine and emailed Kinetix and here is what they said to correct the problem:

We only*put a small amount of lube in the bushing section when the arms are shipped so that they don't show up to you covered in grease.* You need to add a lot of lube to the bushing section with either the grease fittings or by taking the arms off and*packing the bushing section with grease.* Never put any grease inside the ball-joint.

THIS is what I'm looking for. I'm glad I was on the right track... I just don't want to take these things out again!!!! But if that has to be done, then it has to be done. Thanks for the confirmation email quote!

SPL arms also have creaking issues that can be resolved, does that make it a shitty product?

Instead of troubleshooting, next time I have an issue Im just going to throw money at the problem....Literally

I have the Kinetix A arms...Tire life is now great. If they creak, then lub'm damn-it... they have zerks for a reason. Any poly bushing will creak if it needs lub. BTW the new Kinetix arms come with full rubber ball joint boots and an aluminum cone spacer for a tighter fit on the steering link.

I installed the latest version of the Kinetix front control arms this past week including the rubber dust boot over the ball joint. I took the bushings out and confirmed they only put grease on the bushing ID (between the energy suspension bushing and the inner sleeve that the bolt passes through), and not a lot of grease at that. I applied additional grease to this area as well as a layer of grease on the OD of the bushing where it contacts the actual control arm. I also used dielectric grease on the outside flanges of the bushings where it contacts the vehicle chassis. So far with almost 100 miles on them they are completely silent.

I also installed the Kinetix rear camber arms and they are working well so far as well. I was a little surprised they use a coarse thread adjustment so without the jam nuts tight there is some slop/bending of the arms.

I will tell you this, Kinetix has the best customer service around. They have been helping me diagnose my creaking issue and have sent me new bushings. Also, the camber adjustment on these are amazing. Went from -2.4 camber on Ichiba's to -.03 camber on the Kinetix Arms.

Maybe I missed this, but is there a particular type of grease that Kinetix recommends for their bushings?

I don't think it matters. You can use all purpose grease found out most auto parts stores but that stuff smells bad. I prefer lithium based grease.

I read something from Kinetix that recommended "white lithium grease". I have also wondered about using any all-purpose grease, but I'd rather use what the manufacturer recommends.

I think I got confused. The all purpose grease that I got was this one which is lithium based. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=557504_0_0_

The stuff that doesn't smell is the white lithium.

^ Thanks guys, I'll check up on the white lithium.

I never thought I'd be sold on a product where the thread's originally intended subject was a complaint.
