Front upper control arm bushing replacement
How, in the name of all that is holy, do you get the damn OEM bushings out?
The oem bushings have a flared collar on the receiving side of the control arm, leaving no room to put a receiving cup to press against. I've tried pressing it out with a receiving cup sitting on just part of the arm, and only managed to ding things up. I've also tried a hacksaw and harsh language, and am getting nowhere fast.

That surprised me too. I would bet you can go down to Autozone and get the ball joint kit to press them out if the c-clamp will fit between the two bushings. I already had my car torn apart and probably the wife's car was gone that day or I may have been smart enough to go rent the tool. I spent hours getting mine out. At least I could use my press to put the new ones in quickly.
I ended up cutting the flange off and using an air powered body saw to saw them out.
Look at the thread titled something like "removing diff bushing no c-clamp method" to get some ideas about removing a bushing that cannot be easily taken to a regular shop press. there are a couple of ideas and pictures to help you understand what to do.

if that doesn't help you, here is how to use the tool on an actual ball joint. Just pretend your bushing is a ball joint, the tool works on anything you can get lined up and get the adapters on. You may end up needing a piece of metal tube to push a bushing out all the way. Good luck!
