Default '03 350z suspension question. Coilover adjustments

Hi. So I'm new to the 350z area. I'm installing new coilovers on the car. I've done all the removal and install parts but to adjust the coilovers I'm just making sure I'm doing it right. I am installing the GSP mono-RS kit which has separate ride height and spring preload adjustments. So to adjust the front I measured stock suspension and left the new coilovers 1.5" shorter. I'm about to do the back and am wondering would I do the same? Even if stock it uses a separate spring? Thanks in advance for the input. If you feel you have a better way please let me know. I've been using the sticky and it's been extremely helpful.
