Need help with a suspension related issue
Just recently (about two days ago) I noticed while driving *sometimes* there is a thumping FEELING..coming from my driver side, I assume it's the rear.
The strange thing is that it is not a thump as in a thumping sound, it is a sensation of thumping. For what it's worth it seems to match the tempo of the speed my tires are rotating, almost as if there's something stuck to the tire and it's thumping as the tire spins, but I don't see anything wrong with the tire (from what I can see now)
My rotors, and brake pads need to be done, (Non-Brembo) but I'm not sure that's the problem as it occurs without braking.
Another strange thing is that it doesn't seem to happen all the time. I really only notice it when I'm going in a straight line, at low speeds.
Thank you for any help or ideas in advance.

^^ When I have seen what you describe, it’s been a fault in the tire itself. Typically it’s a separation of the tire components that makes a noise and often affects driving and handling. Have your tire dealer check the tires. --Spike

Get a shop to check your rear caliper. Looked the same issue up for a friend and his was that his caliper wasn't completely being detached from the rotor and occasionally, it would be hitting causing the thumping or vibrating. It's a feeling/sound that comes and goes right? I took his car for a day and it would randomly come and go where the steering would shake pretty violently.

There's a likely cast of three suspects: the tire, brake assembly or possibly a rear wheel bearing going out. There are plenty of threads on here about all three, so a search should turn up additional info for you to consider.

Old thread, but I figure I'd post some updates as well as the issue I'm still having.
1. Rear brakes were toast. Replaced driver side rear caliper, it was seized. replaced driver side rear rotor, it was fried because of the seized caliper, replaced both side brake pads.
2. I'm *STILL* getting a "tapping" sensation that matches the speed of the wheel rotating, mostly noticeable when I'm coming to a stop, and a SLIGHT sensation on the highway...it's not a shaking as in, you can see your hand shaking on the wheel..or a...."holy **** my tire might fall off" shaking. It doesn't matter if my foot is pressing the brake pedal or not, still get that tapping sensation. Mind you, there are no loud noises while this is going on.
Seeing how I replaced pretty much every brake component in the rear, I'm going to jack up the rear this weekend and check out the entire rear end to see if something may be wrong there. Other than that, I can only see it being a tire problem?..?..?
I'd hate to spend money on two new rear tires if I don't need to, especially seeing how the treads are still good on them. What else could it be?
