I've been on a set of KW V2's since April 2011 and haven't had an issue with them *knocks on imagery wood*. I left them on the pre-set setting, which I believe is 5/10, and I've put probably 70k miles.

The ride from them isn't too rough. Definitely a lot more firm than stock. The condition of the road plays a pretty role though.

I don't know much about the HKS, but I would imagine they would be a great choice as well. Just search around a bit and you should be able to find some decent reviews on either of them.

KW Variant's 2
twintube construction,
V2=adjustable rebound damping,
Spring rates Front 485lbs to 525Lbs Rear: 240Lbs to 548Lbs (progressive springs)
Min and Max ride height Front: -.8”/-1.5” Rear: -.8”/-1.5”
(I'm biased to the KW's because I have shock dyno's that I ran. At softer settings they would give a good ride quality. Up to half stiff is fine for the street. If you take them to the track resist the temptation to set them full stiff, walk them up until your times no longer improve.

HKS Hipermax IV GT
Monotube construction
double adjustable (adjusts rebound and compression together)
Full height adjustable (adjusts height independent of spring preload)
Spring rates 504/504
Ride height min and max Front: 0" to -1.5" Rear: 0" to -2"
From the HKS web site Japan
This damper is for city drive with comfort.
・The riding quality and traction improved greatly by giving more rear stroke.
・We have set it least damping force for the most smooth suspension system. It will have great driving feeling because we eliminated the floating feeling or thrust.
・Recommended dial setting is F:12 & R:15
・Factory setting has low down width because stock vehicle has the lowest vehicle height from the ground. And still it doesn't have stock high center of gravity feeling and feel great without roll.
・The vehicle height data from other than the test is computational data.(The numbers does not guaranteeing the height)
