Even if there were, u don't wanna use a spring that isn't designed for the z. The only known compatible, as previously stated, would be the G35 springs, but being designed to hold more weight, u would end up with half the drop advertised, if that. New pro kits go for around $250ish shipped, save up and do it right.

Agreed. Just because it fits doesn't mean that its right. The spring rates arent for the Z. OP. Cruise the FS section or ebay you may find some there

Thanks guys.. any springs with same spring rates/size?

Also, I see a lot of varied suggestions on what brand springs to buy. I always thought Eibach was the way to go, but Im seeing a lot of people saying to go with Tein or Tanabe.... thoughts?

Opening myself up for righteous criticism here but frankly, almost any of the top name springs will do just fine for street use. What's MORE important in this equation is what you use to control the spring motion.... SHOCKS.

Read this thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...coil-over.html

Boy, I ref that one a lot... and not cuz I contributed to it but because almost all of the springs at the top of the heap - Eibach, Hotchkis, Tein, Nismo, etc. - are mentioned and are used by all of the contributors.

I'm partial to Eibach, others swear by the Tein units, etc. Common thread tying a lot of that discussion together are the top branded shocks used with them, Bilstein, Koni, Tokico and so forth.

Over my many years of messing with suspension set ups, I have found that springs are the one component that get talked about the most but in reality, are NOT the piece to get AS over-analytical about versus shocks, sway bars, alignment, tires. Springs hold up your car and there's not nearly the science in them as with the other components. Stick with the top brands and in six months you won't even think about 'em again.

Flame suit on....

Mic

Difficult question to answer without knowing what goals you have for your car.....are you going for performance or looks? How low are u looking to go? Is it a daily driver or track vehicle? These are all things u need to take into consideration when choosing a spring.

Eibach has a great reputation, but a lot of the track guys have reported them being unpredictable when pushed to the limit due to their progressive design. For track it's better to go with linear springs.

So everyone's opinion will be different based on their needs......

I dont plan on tracking my car but I do like to have an 'in-control' feel when im spirited driving.. I really only want an inch drop. I heard anything past that will require camber arms and toes...

I dont want to pay too much on shocks...Actually anything that is suited for an inch drop and is around the same price, or a little more than OEM shocks, is good enough for me...Of course they must be decent sport ones though, but still comfortable enough as DD....

Maybe a good all-around shock?

you shouldn't be cheap on suspension... but the cheapest will be bilstein shock and eibach pro kit springs

Swift would probably be my Go To spring. Springs make a difference as noted above, but unless you track the car and know exactly what you need, most aftermarket springs will be fine. Just pic the drop you want, if you have problems, it's most likely do to crappy shocks

"Best" shock in the realm of OEM are likely the Tokico Blues. ~$500/set. Pair that with a decent set of springs, be they Tein, Eibach, whatever fits your budget should work. (Others people talk about: KYB GR2, supposedly close to stock. Me, I won't touch 'em after premature failure of a set of this brand many years ago.) You DO get what you pay for.

However, keep in mind the order of things (for handling IMPROVEMENT):

Good Tires
Good Alignment
Anti-sway bars
Shocks
Springs
Alignment adjustability (if needed)

In that order as budget allows.

Too many people start with springs....for the look. And that's OK if that's what one is going for. Looks. Doing it right is a whole 'nother matter.

I have Hotchkis springs and Tokico Blue shocks. They work well together. The blues should pair up well with pro kits too. They're no bilsteins but they're a decent 60k mile shock for the price

Bringing this post back since im now in the market for shocks. I did some digging around for a few hours and came up with these prices. Amazon and Ebay. Free shipping to California.

Monroe OE - $253
KYB - $272
Tokico HP - $350
Tokico D-Spec $673
Nissan OEM - $710
Bilstein - $740
Koni - $951

Im trying to decide what shocks would pair best with Eibach ProKit springs. Im aiming for the $300 price range so im stuck between the Tokico HP's(blues) or the KYB ExcelG's (GR2)....

Tokico vs KYB whats it gonna be?
