Default Brake duct for a track car

The simple way is to install the outlet of the hose so the air blows on the surface of the rotor but has anyone tried to do it this way - is it possible in 350z at all?

Nobody has tried to build a custom brake duct box like that because:

a) Too expensive
b) Not enough room on a production vehicle to install such an item on each front wheel
c) Unsprung weight becomes a huge problem
d) Better suited for formula cars (and usually only F1 cars)
e) Let's mention #1 again. Layup costs for carbonfibre are stupid expensive

Installation of Nissan Motorsports (USDM) carbonfiber brake ducts to the front rotors utilizes simple 3" high temp brake hose and hose clamps. You can actually fabricate clean brake ducts in the OEM bumper like this:

Carbon brake duct and mounting kit: Part #63822-Z33RS

You'll need to order from a US dealer with a NISMO account.

Dang- didn't think I was even being serious about distribution! My only thought was to let the OP know where to buy these brake ducts from. To my knowledge, there's no other aftermarket supplier for carbonfiber brake ducts like these.

No Im saying why so serious to Nissan... Not to your reply. Why do they make Nismo products so top secret and strict to purchase.

Ah- that makes more sense. NISMO advertising has been chaotic at best. Nissan executives have known this for some time, but the problem persists. There are some NISMO branded products that are in wide distribution for the general public, but they lack much (if any) marketing.

There are other products (like the CF brake ducts) that were built for Nissan Motorsports, the US arm of NISMO, for racers. Those items are intended for the serious racing crowd and are quietly marketed until a thread like this comes along, and some bonehead like me let's the cat out of the bag.
