Default Entire rack or just boot replacement?

What do you guys think? Looks to me like just the grease from the boot instead of fluid. Doesn't seem to be dripping. Looked grayish on my finger. Didn't notice any problems, just happened to be under there changing the crankshaft position sensor and noticed this.

If just the boot, I gotta take off and replace the tie rod too?
If the rack

Sorry to say, there's not much grease in those boots. It's probably the rack seals themselves beginning to degrade. Check the BCM codes as well, since they'll read out seepage from the rack and confirm what's wrong without actually having to remove it.

I've not replaced the boots on my 350Z but i have replaced the boots on other models and the repair pack comes with a small pack of grease, clips and glue. All i had to do was make sure everything was clean fill the bottom of the boot, glue the top and clip up, so no removal. I've got to say though this was for a daily runaround so I'm not sure if the 350Z would be repaired in the same way.
