Does anyone know what a dealer pays for an enthusiast? A friend of mine gets a discount of $100 dollars over the dealer invoice on any Nissan. Although this might not include the Z now, it might in the future. Let me know what you guys think.
But unless you know someone directly at the dealer that can get that for you dream on. Most everyone paid MSRP which is 28789.00. That is with the destination charge.
True cost of the car, however, is less than invoice. I'm not sure on Nissan's, but GM has a 3% holdback underneath invoice. It is there to allow for floorplanning expenses, etc, so if you buy a car immediately when the car comes in, the dealer has that money, too.
Also, cars can be had under MSRP now if you are willing to look and aren't in a rush. I just got a touring $2614 back of MSRP (891 over invoice). I had to go to the midwest to get it, but I think it was worth the trip.
Dealers in LA seem to have a number of 350Z's sitting in the lot. I was a little shocked myself. Looks like this weak economy is going to eat away at the 350Z's launch. Looks like if you're patient and willing to shop around, you may be able to find a below-retail price on the Z! Jeez, and the 350Z was just launched a couple months ago.
Mannish, NO holdback on the Z!!! My family owns some dealers, what you see on Kbb.com in the ACTUAL wholesale cost the dealer gets it at. I get all the FACTS, btw, when I bought my wife a Jetta there was a $500 holdback that I got taken off the price of that car, NO SUCH thing for the Z. the car is TOO HOT right now, maybe another year or so?
Most dealers will not give money from holdback, espessially on a new popular car like the 350Z. I am looking to buy one within the next month, I am just going to e-mail every Nissan dealer within 300-500 miles and I'm going to buy from whoever gives me the best deal.
Once you know the best price hit the other dealers up and see if they will match or beat it buy 100.

Nope, dealerships actually like it when you finance. They usually get some type of kickback from the financing company, some shady dealerships even try not to give you the best rate in order to get a bigger kickback from certain finance companies they have buddied up too. Only smaller scale sales like cash, harder to report (or not report ), no surcharge for doing a credit card transaction, etc., etc.
