I hope to see a whole bunch of replys to this post! If you did pay less, maybe a dealership name and location, and how you went about it would be in order. Thanks.
I did! Purchased my Z on December 23rd at Southern States Nissan in Apex,North Carolina. I paid $1100 less than the MSRP for a sunset touring. First off, they had 6 or more Z's in the showroom however they sold three that day. For a starting point that helps in my favor right there. Second of all I I told them the truth and that with another dealership I had a Z on order due sometime in January (WHICH IS TRUE). For me to buy a Z with Southern States they must give me an incentive. I hinted to droping the price on the Sunset and guess what, he started talking. 4 hours later I have a Z in my driveway!
I suggest if you want to talk the dealers down lets say you want a CS touring in front of you. When talking to the sales manager/manager flat out tell them this is not the color you want but something that a dealership has in another city and that you guys worked out a price etc. When dealing with the salesman never let him know that you REALLY WANT this car. Just pretend that you like it but really in love with the FAKE Daytona Blue down at the other dealership. More times then not you will succedd! Thank about how your going to aproach this but the key is to not let them know your REALLY INTERESTED. Good Luck and you should win the MSRP battle!
This won't work for those of us who ordered our cars though... I look almost everyday and there isn't a Brickyard Enth in stock within 100 miles of where I live... so I ordered one
I am trying to find an enth. model redline and I have been told as much as 31k for one. I don't want to pay no more than 29k. I guess I will be awhile before I can get one if I cant find one in that price range.

Are'nt you from club3g? I was 01SILVRGT... I was set to but a SS performance but the dealer in GA would not budge on their 1K mark-up...total was 33.4K. So I took my business to SC and bought a SS enthusiast w/aero, splash guards, side airbags, kickplates, and mats for 29.8K.
Picked up my Super Black Enthusiast 2 days ago from from Casa Nissan in El Paso, TX for $1000 under MSRP. They had 8 Zs on the lot! That certainly helped!

Bommarito in St Louis. They wanted to get one more car off of floorplan before next month, so were willing to deal. If you look over at zcar.com , they still have some listed at $1500 off I think, although I think I saw where Todd posted that they didn't get a big allocation this month. Not sure how long they'll be dealing like that.
Heh, they probably don't want me telling about this deal

I will have to call them today, I am going to STL next weekend, and I was told that bommarito had the best deals!
$1300 under MSRP in Milwaukee for Chrome Silver Performance model......my business partner paid $1000 under MSRP for a Touring Model in Minneapolis...traditionally, sport cars do not sell well in the Midwest in winter, so that may have something to do with it.
There was a dealer a few weeks ago selling in the Minneapolis area for invoice + $1000. Look back in the classified section. He's mainly doing it for what is in stock right now. I talked to him a couple of times.
Turns out that one of the options i asked for in Febuary of '02 went up when i took delivery in August by $700 bucks. The other 175 was floors mats and wheel locks etc.
