Default Toys R Us refuses to sell Hot Wheels at MSRP

I went to Toys R Us to shop for a 350z and the general manager refused to let me look at the car. I said how do you expect me to buy it if I can't look at it?

He said if I didn't want it, someone else would buy it.

He also added $5 to the $25 dollar MSRP, explaining that it was a "hot model."

Do you think if I complain to Mattel, they will do something? Also, do you think that Hot Wheels will come out with a convertible model soon?

Is Jim Wright, formerly of Hayward Nissan, now managing a Toys R' Us?

Yes, you should write a letter to Mattel. Send it to the attention of the Boys President, Matt Bousquette.

When Nissan breaks with their convertibles Hot Wheels will probably do a 1:18 scale.

While your complaining to Mattel, send a letter to Toys R Us also. I am sure their folks would love to hear your story also.

Also, if the car has orange peel, do NOT take delivery!

HAHAH.

perhaps you can barter with him, say if you buy a Barbie, to get the Z at cost?

just go to another Toys R us. Sheeze. or just wait like a month. the hype for it, just like the AutoArt will die down.

You just have to ask yourself one thing. What would Winona Ryder do?

Mattel can’t legally influence an independent distributor’s (i.e. Toys R Us) pricing…to do so would run afoul of antitrust legislation.

They’re simply trying to balance supply and demand as all good capitalists do. If ya don’t like it, shop elsewhere or wait for the hype to die down!

Default MSRP+

Don't do it man, I found a toy broker and got mine under cost.

Warning: keep it out of the sandbox as the paint chips real easy.
