Looking to pick up an 03 base Z
I've found a couple of Zs around my area that caught my eye
Both are 03's. One is a base black with 70,000 miles for $16.5k. The other is White with 85,000 miles for $15.2 Seems to me like mileage is high for these prices. What would you try to get? Another thing i was wondering about is the reliability of 03 Zs. Driving normally, regular oil changes, routine maintenance, etc. etc. How many miles do you guys see these cars hitting with no problems? Gonna be my DD for a couple years until i get through school again which is why I'm buying an 03. think they will last that long? |

Not looking for anything FI as of now. Just looking for a nice Z for a back to school again car. Something that will be Daily drivable and not a weekend warrior
It's hard for me to justify buying someone else's setup when i would much rather do my own. Thats why im just looking for a Stock or near stock base model. Nothing Fancy Good looking out though fellas

obviously they are going to last for a while. Hence why 03's are still driving around perfectly fine. Im asking how long does everyone see them going before they start running into major mechanical problems.

I've had my 03 base for a couple months now. I'm actually going to sell it soon so if your interested
. Anyways so far I have had no problems with the car. The manual trannys tend to be a little notchy at times, but like I said so far so good. Engine wise I would suspect you could easily get 150k miles out of it with just regular maintenance. (Oil change, etc...)Price wise, those prices seem very high to me. I do realize that your market just might be higher then most of the country. I won't pay more than 14k for either one. |

Assuming you find a Z that has been reasonable well maintained & not beat on, it should last for several years & 200,000 miles. My 03 is 5 + years old with 55,000 miles. Not a hint of a problem.

I will keep looking. I've emailed a few people on craigslist around me about a couple too so lets see how that works out. I'm glad people who actually have Z's think they'll last a while!
Good to know

I have an 03 Base Z. Reliable as hell except for the knick-knacks (such as bad window motors, shitty cupholders, etc). No mechanical/electrical problems. Car is 70k miles and still going strong.
I expect to keep the car for another 3-4 years, in addition to the nearly 3 years of ownership so far... |
