Hi All,
When looking to buy a used Z, i sometimes see a former rental offered for sale, usually 2008 with ~30K miles. Prices are of course very low and my question is: Would you just not buy an ex-rental (~30K miles but 2008 and low price) or is this something worth considering ?
Sure if it's $$$enough . The nissan still has to take care of things don't they? If not then it would have to be cheap . Think of it this way what do you think you would get from someone on this forum who wants to sell there car? Face it they have ALL been run hard sometimes or they would of bought a sentra. At least from the rental outfit you should be able to get all the service and maint work down on paper. Not like buying from someone who changes their own oil and has no proof if service.

would you marry an ex-prostitute? anyway, most rental cars are abused. People drive these rental or "pre" owned vehicles with little care. Sure, the exterior may look fine but it is really the internals what you have to worry about. just my .02
I bought a 2008 Mercury Sable Premier with 5k miles last year and didn't think twice about it being a rental. But the kind of people that rent a Mercury are a lot different than the ones asking for a Z. Plus 30k miles is a ton for an 08.
wouldn't touch an ex-rental with a 10ft pole - particularly a Z. i think my grandma did donuts in the last rental car she got...
EXACTLY!!! Unless you get it for $10,000 and a 100,000 mile bumper/bumper warranty...I wouldn't touch it. Plus, it's gonna be an Automatic(not trying to start up the whole manual/auto debate).

vq35s are extremely strong motors.. i wouldn't buy that car without a compression test on all cylinders.. if the compression came back like new i woudln't think twice about buying it for dirt cheap... i beat my car too you know :P
Because I hold all that abuse back from my Z so when I get a rental it feels months and months of built up wrath.
Because I can.
I WOULD NEVER BUY A RENTAL.
I would, however, and just did, buy a leased vehicle, but even then, you need to do your research and make sure you feel comfortable that person who leased it took care of it. Particularly a girl or an older person is the preferred previous owner of choice. But to be honest, I don't even know if I would look a leased SPORT car.
no way.... ALL of them beat up for sure. Anyone that rents them would beat the crap out of it. My friend rented one and used it on the track, and another did donuts and random stuff.

Everybody and their mom beats on retals, especially one like theZ.
It makes me just cringe at the image of some idiot bouncing off the rev limiter all day. Unless you have $$$ stashed to rebuild the motor, stay AWAY
