2008 around 19000 miles for 20 thousand?it has exhaust that i want to change a little to big for my taste, and a rear sway bar.this is my first time buying a z, is this a good deal?anything i should know or check on the car before i buy it.i put down $400 dollars so they wont sell it.thanks
it says it has leather seats, power seats, and heated seats. Clearly you can see they are cloth, non power, and cloth seats do not have heat. There is no sat radio (no controls for it in the pictures of the dash). isn't the cruise control on these cars in the steering wheel like the g35's? if so then there i no cruise control like it says.
That being said, i don't know if 20k is a good price or not.
if it's a base like someone said above then it won't have the VLSD pumpkin which i think means no traction control.
ya dont know why it's listed like that ,it has pretty low miles wich is good.they said it had an aftermarket shift knob and somebody stole it,so they will be giving me a new one.
what aftermarket parts? exhaust? it's not like it's a built motor. Just putting exhaust or some easy bolt ons really won't mess a car up.
i would find out now since it's been broken into what was damaged. how did they get it? what parts did they have to replace after someone broke into it?
low miles is nice, but if it doesn't have the options you want mileage isn't anything. it's only a year old and has half the miles of what my 2003 has on it. they put 20k miles on it in a year. not that it's bad, but it wasn't driven only on the weekends ot get those kind of miles. It was driven normal.
Just pick a car with the options you want. I'd almost always want cruise in a car that i drive daily. I work 30 minutes away so i like to kick the cruise on.
what kind of z are you looking for? that is the main question. more miles doesn't exactly mean bad
no it wasnt broken in to somebody looking at the car at the dealrship stole the shift knob,ya and i guess your wright about the aftermarket parts just some bolt ons nothing major...i can live without cruise control, and i have after market stereo for it all ready with a touch screen pioneer navy so i dont mind the base model interior, just no traction control kind of suck especialy in the snow, how is the car in the rain? thanks for your help
19k miles is not low at all. That is probably average at best. The price seems fair based on book value, but that is a lot of money for a car without a single option on it.
I would think there are better deals in your area.

rain depends on your tires. any kind of slippery pavement is not good in these cars if you have summer tires. with all seasons they should be ok. Mine wouldn't even move out of my flat driveway with a dust of snow on the ground. traction control won't help that though.
i have been to 8 diffrent dealrships cant find the car i want this has been the lowest miles and the cleanest z i seen,i love the convertable but its just to small cant even fit my hockey sticks in it...!

Hold on there Skippy.... Snow? If you get snow on a regular basis where you live, don't buy a Z unless either a) You have another car for winter driving, or b) You can take public transportation if it snows at all.
Have you owned a rear wheel sports car before? You don't want to be in one if it snows. Even with all season tires, the experience is not fun. See a couple pictures below.
If you have the whole winter driving thing covered, then just be patient and hold out for the car that you really want. You have to be patient and be willing to look in a wide area. When I was looking, I cast my net in a radius of 300 miles from home. Turns out I found my Z in my own backyard. Identify what is important and keep looking until you have it. If you want LSD, then wait for it.
Road trip and got caught in snowstorm in New Mexico. 3rd Gen RX7. Good all season tires and I grew up driving to the mountains in the winter. Even so, it was a scary experience.

Good example but in florida 2008 black enthusiast with 1400miles on it and motordyne shockwave exhaust 20k! So there are great deals out there now dont settle!
keep in mind, it isn the lack of traction control that keeps me from recommending the base.
Not sure of all the differences in 08, but in 04 when I bought mine it was small things like, cruise control and autodim mirror with homelink. Then you factor in the loss of VLSD and TCS and it makes no sense to get a base. If you don't have the VLSD, you have a uselss one wheel wonder. If you are willing to swap the rear pumpkin and get some sort of LSD, then by all means get the base. At that point, you mechanically aren't loosing anything in that regard. The TCS is subjective, and I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker. I would argue cruise is something one expects on a car of this caliber/price point and not to have it is a noticable negative.
The enthusiast was less than 2 grand more new. I am sure the difference in price in the used market is non existant. This is my reasoning why I wouldn't consider a base model. I am sure you can find higher model 08 with less miles for a comparable price. I personally think 18K miles for the 08 is more than I would like to see. overall, just too many negatives about this particular car for me to say go for it
Dealer RETAIL is $21k based on Edmunds true market value for a vehicle in good shape. They state those other things to bring the value up - it's a widely practiced Nissan tactic. Trade-in is $16k, so that's about what they paid for it. Make your offer from there, but I'd shoot for $18k-19k, plus a new shift knob (likely about 80 bucks from Nissan Parts Department). I guess they missed that in the "142 point inspection". Same thing happened when we went to look at a Titan with said inspection. The battery was dead, the windows didn't work, it said it had the TOW package but didn't, etc., etc.
If they will take less than $19k, I'd probably go for it. It's under warranty, and has the great HR engine. Plus, you could use the $200 internet coupon AFTER you've agreed on a price.
