I'd just roll in and offer 20k in cash.
Guarenteed sale.
but that's just my style.
the car isnt even selling for that much so all u would be doing is over paying and making urself look like an ass, and yeah i am sure it would be a guaranteed sale..i guess thats how u roll

I don't think he would take less than 17k, and yes in this market he can get that for the model and mileage. If he's not desperate to sell, he will hold out and he should. Looks clean

Edmunds.com TMV is a good start for the consumer. KBB is for dealers with inflated prices. They want you to use it (even though this guy is private), compare at edmunds.

it all depends on how fast the seller needs to get rid of it and how bad he needs the money, the guys that sold me my Z was asking 15.7 i ended up getting it for 14.5, 2003 with 28,000 miles

I dont think its overpriced, Im sure you can find cheaper but its certainly not crazy what hes asking for it. I think 15,5 or 16 is fair. Oh and on the economy......That excuse is starting to run thin....

obviously it was a joke
id offer him 15 at best for it but obviously he probably wont go that low or shave that much off. good luck
I got my 05 from a private party on Craigslist for less than 15K; SS Touring with 45K miles incl. small mods; popcharger, satellite, ProKit, and 18" TSW wheels/Invo tires. I think that you should be able to get it for 15.5 max.

I don't see anything special about that deal. It's not outrageous but it is not a steal either. I would think that you could find something better if you just look longer.
