Default Should I buy this 2004 Nissan 350z Touring Coupe??

Hello guys, I'm back..
Earlier last month I posted a forum seeking advice on buying a Z at my age (22). Well I just can't stay away from Z's..

Well anyway, I found this Z near my area on Craigslist and I will buy it if I can make some profit off of it or perhaps keep the car although you'll see what i'm talking about when I tell you the mileage.. Well here is the posting:

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/4418723017.html

He's asking 7800.. Is it a buy? What is a reasonable price for this car? How much should i negotiate?

2004 Nissan 350z coupe - Touring
Clean Title
166K Miles
Etc. Etc..

Ps. I know the car says its a nismo, but it's not. I confirmed that with the buyer.

Thanks.

I don't think you'd be able to make any money on it. As for buying it to enjoy... I personally wouldn't. Too many miles which for me adds stress of wondering what's going to go wrong next because I'm not very mechanically inclined.

I was 22 almost 23 when I bought mine. If you're looking to flip cars there're better options out there.

I confirmed that it wasn't a nismo when you said the year.. They only made nismo z's in 07-08.

You will not make profit off this car. Maybe a couple hundred bucks.

If you want it to have, get it checked by a mechanic, a real one, not your buddies who change their own oil, and buy it, but don't do it if you think you can make thousands off the car.

think of it this way.

If you were going to buy the car to keep and enjoy... what would you pay for it??

whatever that number is, take 1000-1500 off and that should be your price if you want to make sure that you're making a profit and not waste your time

in my experience you're only finding these deals when someone is in a big hurry to sell.

If I was buying that to flip I'd show up lowballing with $6000 cash and after negotiations pay $6500 max, then be prepared to wait 1 month+ to sell it for 7500.

keep in mind if you're doing this by the book you're registering at dmv, paying taxes, filing paperwork, and all that shiz. your margin just keeps on shrinking

EDIT: you mention you've been a fan of the Z for a while. While the $6000-$6500 scenario is ideal, even paying 7500 might not be such a bad thing. Keep it for a few months, decide how much you like it, and if you're not crazy about it throw it back up for sale and hope to break even or take a small loss for owning the Z for a few months

its a good price but its going to be hard to sell it for a profit, because of the age and miles.
I paid 13k for an 07 with 36k on it.
I would pay 6500 to 7k for that car to keep it, not to flip, I would bet you could flip it but it wont be a quick sale and you arent going to make enough to make it worth it to me.

If you just want o get a cheap Z its a pretty cool car, your not going to get one much cheaper than that.

I have very little experiences with cars but that average about 16k per miles and that's a lot. It also depends if that 160k is highway miles because I think if he doesn't drive that far and make small stops all the time that could mess it up too. But since it's 16k annually he must drives pretty far.

Are you buying it too drive...or are you buying it to track and what not?
I'd say if you have the time and resources....a 240sx with either a turbo ka24de, or best of both worlds(drum roll) a vq!
A vq,tranny, custom drive shaft, j30 diff with a Dakota digital for the speedo, McKinney motor and trans mounts. Then just follow the wiring write up on a specific 240 forum for your Osiris unlocked ecu.
Get sassy and throw some 4.6 or 4.9 rear end gears from a frontier back there(say goodbye to first gear!).
Err didn't see the no experience with cars.
