Yes, unfortunately the wider the net you cast for potential buyers, the more you open yourself to having to deal with scammers.

They aren't that hard to spot, so as long as you aren't desperate to sell quickly, and don't mind telling potential scammers to go pound sand, you will be fine. and STICK TO YOUR GUNS when it comes to payment.

If you decide you are OK with a bank check, at least alot time to call the bank yourself to verify it's authenticity.

PS - and yes, on fleabay, LOTS of high quality photos are KEY to garnering interest.

When I did accept payment with a certified check before on a used car (out of state buyer - who flew out, looked at car, and paid to ship it), when he flew out with the check, I signed my title over to him, and let him leave with it, but told him the car was gonna sit in my garage until I had confirmation from my bank that his certified check was "cleared", at which point I released it to a shipper that he had arranged.

Hahah I am away at sea but would love to buy your vehicle. Please accept a western union payment for 35% more then your asking price.

Yeah I am pretty hard set on cash only. I did however let one buy pay with PayPal one time but I wouldn't do that again, just no security for the seller.

I think it would be hard though for someone to have $12,000-13,000 cash lol.

I'm going to go tomorrow to the waterfront or somewhere nice and take some pictures. As I'm getting older it's harder to own two vehicles, and storing it in winter sucks. I tried to drive in snow and didn't make it down the street and that was with snow tires.

Hey!

Yep it's 100% stock besides a K&N drop in filter and head unit for iPod control.

I've seen many Z's locally with higher miles going for around $12,500. Just hard to find a buyer that is serious.

Edit: My Z also has brand new rear tires, driver window motor and front brake pads and rotors.

Sounds about right. I'm not selling my Z, but I've always wondered what it's worth.

Maybe I'll sell it to one of my kids if they ever want to buy it.

It's always good to know! I doubt I will have someone serious in my area.

I tried to get an online trade-in value but they lowballed me and said $7,000. I was insulted and left a bad google review lol. I know the KBB trade in is about $9,000-11,000.

Might as well keep the car.

I figure that eventually the Z will go to one of my kids. Then I can get another toy.

Yeah I might, it's just the fact I don't need 2 sports cars. I just acquired my fathers Civic SI as he can no longer drive.

I figured if I could get a decent amount then I mind as well sell. If not I'll keep it as I put a lot of $$ into it and it's paid off!

I almost sold the Z once. Someone actually called about it, and I just couldn't do it.

Cash up front, any shortage, have him get a loan for the remainder. Then you have your money and he has the vehicle.
