Default Considering buying a 350z

Hello everyone, so I've been searching like hell for a Z, I found one that is listed relatively cheap for an 08, however, it looks like it's been modified. I'd also like to state that this car is going to be strictly a summer car so maybe a 2k miles a year.

Email the internet sales manager to verify the exact vehicle, price, and mileage (might be the catch). Print out the email so it is in writing. Take it there and they usually will honor the sales price. I've never had issues before and I go through new and used cars like candy. Mention lawyer, corporate, or district manager and they comply. Got donuts and a soda delivered during a deal once. lol

Yeah I bet there is a catch. I'll email them now and probably look at it, if it's truly that price.

That looks like a good deal......
350Z NISMO 55K miles for $15K = good deal

Check carfax for accidents.....but if its fixed who cares
Check compression and clutch to see if that N2O bottle was used too much.

Only questions I have is why is the hood matte/unpainted? And if there really is N2O, why wouldn't the dealership remove it?

Its worth a looksee.....
Maybe the N02 bottle was there for just show and the dealer left it to make it look bad ***.
Looks like someone jacked the subs too....

On a high perf car its best to see it in person and touch it.

Alright so I went to finally go look at the vehicle and man was it an experience. Off the bat, the dealer told me that the car as originally red then painted black (inside of the hood and gas cover were still red) and that the N2O was wired and hooked up. I laughed as he kept going down the list of things wrong with it; stereo missing, speakers missing, aftermarket keys, however, the biggest issue was that the miles were rolled back and there was an odometer issue when reported. This thing was garbage and they asked me to list a price, I told them I couldn't see myself paying a dollar for it.

Did it Run?
Did you drive it?
Proof in the pudding and all....

I would've filled that bottle and taken it for a spin.....
Was that snow on the car? It was almost 100 in SoCal today.

Red Nismos look nice....could've stripped it and returned to original....for the right price.....probably around $10K would be a good price if it ran OK.

Depends what you're looking for .....I've seen some pristine Nismos for low 20s.

How do you roll back the ODO in a 350? Isn't the mileage stored in the computer?

I wouldn't have even paid 10k, the fact that the car had so many issues was a huge red light to me. I started it and man was it loud, are the Nismos really that loud stock? I drove a straight piped Evo X and it wasn't even that loud. And yeah that's snow when the pics were taken. Michigan won't seem to move on from winter this year.

Wow that sounds like a pile of garbage...

I wouldn't touch it because of the paintjob and NO2. The Nismo is loud from the factory but not too loud, who knows what the previous owner did to it!

If $15K is your price range, I've seen a few 350 Nismos with higher mileage for around there.

I think the better deal hand down is a 370 with sports package.....High Teens, Low $20s....but more power, lighter, faster, DD suspension, Brakes, and current body style...IMO....

I've even seen some higher mileage base 370s for mid teens....

Just depends what you are looking for.

Good luck with your search.

Closest I've found was a Nismo with 77k, asking 18k. Currently I made an offer on an Grand Touring Coupe, manual, black, with 66k on it, offered 14,500 for it.

If you can stretch to 19 or 20 you should get a 370....lighter, faster and will hold its value better.....

If you're looking for a turbo car....here's a clean one in AZ....The TN kit is 6 years old but the previous owner upgraded the turbo and BOV.
Its a low mileage car with 48K and has a VIS fusion hood on it ($1000).

The listing says 18.8 but he said he would take $16.5.

Has the AC and the engine is stock so you could always rip the kit off and sell it.

He has dyno sheets....

My biggest thing is I want a Black Coupe, Manual, with leather seats, preferably a touring. The car is only going to be a summer vehicle and I'm going to be doing basic bolt ons, and cruising with it. Here's the one I was considering, give me your input.

I would stay away from that first ebay one.. I don't personally like how it's modded and never would buy a turbo Z. You are just asking for trouble and it will take a lot of $$ for maintaining the turbo.

That second one is very nice and seems well taken care of. The grand touring is for sure great. The only issue with the 2006 models is the rev-up engine is prone to oil consumption. For that reason I suggest you go for a 2004.5 or 2007-2008.

Since it will be only a summer vehicle I would spend as little as you can on one. You're bound to find one with low miles.

Any idea as to what you think I should offer max? He's barely come down but the Blue book value is just around that so it's still not a bad deal

That black one looks clean....body kit, brakes, factory nav....
I think 16 is too much though for a 66K mile car.

I recently got a black 2005 base 80K miles CA car...shifter and drivers seat bolster were torn up, hood had some dings.....$7,500.00....car runs great!
The deals are out there....private parties who are a little desperate are best.

I agree on the turbo cars....nobody seems to have a good recipe for that and where would do you get it worked on if something went wrong?
