The damage was done on the front end, no airbags deployed, no engine/transmission/frame damage, it was completely repaired, looks perfect, and looks to run perfectly as well, it's currently $9000 from a reputable seller.

I'd like to get a second opinion though. Is this worth the price? Is salvage ever an option in non-theft cases? This is a pretty big investment, and it looks like sensible advice is given here, so I'd appreciate any feedback.

Dude if you really want a Z do some homework on it. Check your surrounding cities for one. I lucked out and found an 06' Base w/29994 miles in El Paso after looking in several cities for one. I paid $15k for it from a dealership because the previous owner painted it pearl white from the og silver.
Don't forget to check the carfax on the cars as well

Go buy a $1000 civic put $2000 in parts and have a 9 second aluminum box??

ok, just kidding!

Look into a DE (~$8k - $10k?) and spend a 8kk on some FI and have 500whp...

Direct Engineered 350z. Means Any year that the 350z was still being completely handmade versus machine. FI means nothing....he is just messing with you on that one

bwaaaaaaaaahahahaa. seriously OP, do some home work on the car... my one and only spoon-feeding for ya

03-05 have the DE motor
06 has the Rev-up motor
07-08 have the HR motor (and 09 convertibles)
FI = forced induction aka supercharged or turbo'd
