Default 2004 350Z Touring MT

Many years ago I sold my 78' 280Z and always regretted it and now I am looking to purchase a new Z and have come across a 04' 350Z touring model MT with less than 20K and in very good shape. I have read that there have been some transmission issues in some of the 04's and wanted to ask how serious is the issue and should I be concerned.

Thanks

they can have syncros problems, but you can always get a new cd009 trans from z1 and be good, then sell the other trans to recoup some of your cost. 20k miles is great for that old of one

Had it for less than a year, but I LOVED it. It was an all around good car. I even had some drag racing fun with it, with ONLY/ONLY!!! different street tires in the back. They were the Nitto 555 something? Nice STREET tires that help a bit at the track. Daily driven on STOCK factory wheels. I believe they were 245/17's

Nothing, no problems or issues at all and the trans plus the STOCK clutch both were just fine. 13.7's-13.8's at 99 mph all day long.

ONLY reason I sold cause I wanted an H/R.... ISSUES??? Don't even thing about it From my experience....

+1 on the known "3rd gear synchonizer" faux pas.

My car has had the annoying gronk since I bought it but proper rev match/double clutch/heel-toe (take your pick or all of the above) as needed and never an issue. One day will upgrade to later cd009 tranny.
