Someone should make a sticky thread with a list of the most commonly replicated wheels and all of the various giveaways that they are fake. AdvanZ33 maybe? Since you're practically an encyclopedia for identifying wheels

"I can tell these are fake from the pictures. If you take a micrometer, you'll see the lug holes are .005 mm too big."

"Obviously fake. Actual Mag Blue has a color composition of Red: 5, Green 5, Blue 130. From my observation, the color composition of this shade of blue is Red: 5, Green: 5, Blue: 125."

I'd run from this one, it looks abused, you can find unmolested examples all day long.

I ran, needless to say the seller was cross with me (probably because he didnt want to admit his wheels were fake). I'm trying to find a 350z with stock wheels so I can get a set of real wheels, lol

Dayam, dude, I am impressed!!!

Hmmmmm, I get the feeling that AdvanZ33 and Travlee were study hall buddies. (See previous post rashin' on Trav)

Can you hear them challenging one another?

"No dude, you're wrong! The Rays wheels have 19.6528 microns thickness per coating!!

And my wife says I'm OCD..... wow. Hahahahahaha....

Just ribbin' you guys! So much good info I'll never use!!

Good decision. Whatever you decide, do NOT settle. I promise you it will bite you in the butt.

Example:
I was 19 and wanted an RX8. There was an 06 MT and an 04 Auto with paddle shifters. I wanted the manual, but my step dad talked me out of it since I was taking it to Cali where I had never driven. He said I'd be burning up clutches left and right with all the traffic.... so I took the slower, less expensive Auto and really loved the car..... 2-3 years later after the mod bug had been hitting hard, I realized I couldn't get rid of the Manual Trans itch.... Longer story short, I bought my Manual Z and love every minute of it......

This could be true for trim of the Z. I got a Base model since cruise wasn't AS important as color was. And my Z only had 7,8XX miles on it with one owner. No brainer...

Good luck searching!

Just saw you're in NC, you should check out BMurray's HR he's got for sale. Quality parts were used in his build and he's on here
