Would you buy
Hello my350z,
There's a beautiful 70k 06 350Z Roadster with the Rev Up engine for sale in my area. I inquired about this car and learned from the current owner it does burn about .5 quart every couple thousand miles. Would this instantly turn you away from the Z?
It's not priced extremely well, but the color combo and condition is very appealing.
Thanks for any advice.

I have an 06 with the RevUp motor and I use more oil than that. I just check it every 500 miles and add as needed. They all use some oil. 1/2 quart in 2000 miles is not bad at all.

Ok good to know that it's that prevalent among 06 owners. I have no problem adding a small amount of oil between changes, I'd just hate to see that number grow over the next few years / 30k miles.
Plus as mentioned earlier I have to take the current owners word for it that that's all it's consuming currently.

I knew about the issue and ended up with an 06 revup anyways, couldn't pass it up for a handful of reasons. Doesn't burn much oil at all, if any, but I do change my oil every 3k miles and check it once or twice between intervals. The HR motor is better but the DE is pretty awesome too.

OP, I would get the car checked out by a mechanic, and if everything else checks out, GET IT!
I had an RX8 before the Z and they are known to gulp oil. I checked my oil every time or at least every other time I got gas (about every other day-smh damn rotary) and I never had any issues. PLUS, once I got my red AEM intake on it and a carbon fiber hood, it was easier to peek under the hood at the goodies
Just don't get "busy" and side track it. I use the "B" trip odometer for certain things like miles since tire rotation, oil change, alignment, etc. This could be an option to check too.
Good Luck!
PS, can't go wrong with an HR though
