Glad you started this thread , I am new here , located in the South of France ,I just gave up a 560SL. a 350Z looks like it would really be a great car for both highway and the curvy secondary roads here.Budget is 15K Euros .The average car that shows up in my search is a "2005 - 2007 66K kilometers" I need a manual trans here, miles & miles of curvy roads.
If the car has all its service book up to schedule......what problems should I be on the look out for? How do you guys feel about dealers VS buying privately?
Thank you all
John

If it helps I'm looking at the 2003-2004 models. If anyone could give me there opinions/experiences with them I'd really appreciate it.
Find something owned by a "mature" gentleman who is more than likely to be affluent & not have missed any of its service history and not been thrashed to within an inch of its life. Also look for something standard as again this will more than likely been taken care of. The DE motors were designed (with regular servicing) to cover 200,000 miles. The synchros between 5th and 6th seem most prone to failure and tire feathering will have been sorted out by now. Some of the '06 Rev-up motors were prone to using oil but again most of these will have been sorted whilst under warranty. If looked after & serviced with quality oil these cars are pretty bullet proof if not abused, although anything that's 10 years old will need some TLC. Happy Hunting.
