Smile Help with buying my first 350z

So, i was looking thru craigslist and i found an interesting offer. Since idk to much about mods on 350z's can any experts help me check if this is a good or bad offer? From what i know any car that has had a replaced engine means it's generally a bad car to purchase, but i want to know what the experts think.

Welcome- and I mean this in the kindest way. If you don't know much about Z33s or cars in general, then this CL sale seems like a bad idea. First off, this one had a replacement engine, but the details seem out of whack (high compression pistons? With a stock rebuild? Why would timing be off by a tooth if it was reassembled properly?). Why the cheap price? Probably because it isn't running, or has problems more likely.

In any case, the Z is a sophisticated machine and I wouldn't recommend a novice to sort out such a vehicle with problems. Walk on, or go look if you must. But don't buy this on an impulse, it looks like a money pit to me.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, the fact the battery is "dead" on a newly built engine and it wasn't driven at all after that.......kinda fishy. It's not far from me, I could setup a time to give you my opinon (been in mechanics for 9 years) but i agree with dkmura, it sounds like he can't figure it out and wants it gone.

rebuilt engine, been repainted, and only $5k. its bad when the seller wants a civic instead of the Z. maybe you should be like the seller and stick to hondas

Lets talk insurance rate 😂 if you cant afford a clean car, how can you afford the insurance rate, tires, gas, maintenance on it?
