Unhappy Is this Z worthy of being a good project car?

I've been looking for a Z or a while and came upon this one on Copart in Texas. I'm not an expert on these cars at all but can anyone on here who is give me an estimate on repair cost? and whether it is worth it to take a risk on copart? from the looks of it id assume it needs a bumper, headlights, radiator? not sure. any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!

Want to know if itll be worthy of being a project car.

car has 104k miles.
description says runs and drives.
salvage title.
pure sale car meaning its being auctioned highest bidder takes it.

Is it worth WHAT?

No one can tell you if it's worth it if there's nothing posted about the car. You know, trivial things like price, mileage, title, etc. We can see it's an '07-8 HR but beyond that.... nada.

Even then, no one can give you a virtual answer accurately because those pictures show superficial damage with no indicators of damage under/in the car.

And, this is the wrong section to post in.... it should be posted in "Buying/Leasing". Appropriate Mod will move it.

if its not a track car read on....

if you cant afford to buy an unwrecked z, you cant afford to own the car. PERIOD.

Yeah, and I'm sure it doesn't need the core support, airbags, seat belt retractors, etc. If it's at copart, it's a parts car.

I can afford an unwrecked Z, but why not put that cash saved into something else? especially if the damage is minor.

"minor" yea because that is totally minor. there is a reason why it was salvaged out. 9/10 times its because it costs more to fix than the car is worth.

but usually for minor accidents like this the insurance company will write it off, it is possible for it to be working fine. i can pay for someone to inspect the car.

Can someone be realistic with me and tell me what would need to be repaired please.

Hate to break it to ya, but "minor accidents" are NOT simple write-offs for insurance companies. While the car might start and run, if the cost of properly repairing this car exceeds the estimated value THAT makes it a totaled car.

And as Mic has already said, it's impossible to do an accurate estimate based on the pics you've posted. What needs to happen is (at a minimum), begin pulling the front fascia off the car to look at how far the damage goes back. My guess is it probably got into the frame rails and cost to repair exceeds $10K.

Yes, and yes. The only good reason to buy this car is if it's a gift, and you have time and $ for a project that might never drive correctly.

not trying to tell you how to live your life, but my advice, find a cheaper hobby, like saving money. you may have a full time job, but i doubt you make much from it. save the money from when you graduate, then focus on a career, then buy a house. once you have a garage, go nuts. until then, spending over 10k on a car with salvaged title is just dumb.

In that case then unless you can get the damn car for 1G or free then dont even bother . Save your money and wait for the right deal , it'll pop up. Keep on looking
