Default Opinions on this Z please!

Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase a Z/G this Spring and came across this in my neighborhood - it appears to be pretty clean and non-modded. Would love your thoughts.

Thanks!!

Looks nice, but $11K seems way high for that year - but it does vary by region. Take it to a dealer for a thorough checkout, if you're serious about it.

Thanks Dean - what would you consider a reasonable price for this with 72k miles?

I'd check the KBB site for your area. Also, carefully check those wheels for cracks. They are OEM-Nissan, but there were issues with them, and there may have been a factory service bulletin or recall.

Thanks - yeah I did punch it into both NADA and KBB and got pretty different results. KBB came out around $8-9k for good/very good condition whereas NADA was around $11k. Pretty big range! But will get more info from the seller, thanks!

It all comes down to how serious the seller is, and how serious a buyer you are, but I'd still have the car checked out. Most of the bugs were worked out by '05, but it's still a 12-year old sports car. Check insurance rates, too, and be aware that you'll be lucky to get 15mpg.

and tossing in my 2 cents- def. get it on a lift to look for rust if its been in that part of the country a bit... and while under there- check the rear differential bushing for leak or if its been replaced, and check the lower ball joints on the steering (even if you are a shade tree mechanic- they are both possibly a hassle to replace- and if you are using a mechanic- $$$-which might be a bargaining point) search the forum for threads about both of those repairs/replacements....

i also am chiming in recommending getting the wheels inspected.
read too many horror stories/seen the pictures of folks cars/wheels after they cracked (something about the chroming process weakening them) possibly another bargaining point

if i think of any other lil things that came up after i bought my 05 last year -i'll chime in again...

I'd be most concerned that the google map of the vehicle's location indicates the middle of Lake Marion.

Sorry, you got all the good, serious recs already. OK, back to vacay....
