I paid 35,500 out the door (tax, tags, title, licensing, processing fees, everthing) for my '04 Track in February. Depending on how you pay for the car, you might just get 33,500. for a Touring model. I paid cash, so there was a little more incentive for the dealer to except my offer. If you're financing, they might not bargain as much. Good luck, and let us know what happens.
MSRP is the absolute tops. There have been numerous posts over the last year about people getting 1G to 2Gs below MSRP. A few even more than 2Gs below.
Where you live & time of year make a difference.
When people tell you prices, I'd suggest getting the price before tax, title, etc. since these items vary by state & not much you can do about them.
Walk into the dealer with financing in hand (from bank, credit union, etc); that way the ONLY thing you have to negociate with dealer is price. Dealers luv to confuse you with financing issues
(rate, monthly payment, length). Don't play their game.
Bought my 04 just about one year ago today. Got the touring with every option including nav so with state sales tax of 9.1 percent I was $39,500 OTD and waited until 10/11/04 to take delivery.

did you get a bank loan or do you make really good money?haha
Given that I'm not a criminal, I actually account for my finances with the IRS as required by law, so hiding from them is not something I worry about.
How I acquired the funds to pay cash for the car is beside the point, but no, I didn't borrow the money from a bank to go pay cash at the dealership. I don't make any type of payment on the car at all, thus the term "cash".
