hows the brembo brake pkg for the track Z? is it worth the extra price vs the performance Z (overall performance not just brakes ) also if you guys could buy one all over again would you buy the same pkg ie: base, performance, ect. thanks for the time guys.
If you plan on taking your Z to the track a few times a year, the Brembo's are worth it from what I've read on the racing forums here. If you do like one track event a year, it's proably not worth it.
If you do some searchs, you'll see that the Enthusiast is the best value. You some key features like the HID headlamps, LSD, and Homelink to name a few. The HID's and LDS are worth the price difference between the Base and Enthu. models.

thanks for the reply! hows the stock lsd does it compare to the nismo version
Stock LSD is obviously less aggressive than the NISMO one. To be honest, you really have to be pushing the car hard in the corners during the apex to notice a difference.
If you are never gonna be on a road coarse, like 99% of the Z drivers out there, then its really not worth it.
all performance addons in the Z packages are better than nothing, but not as good as aftermarket. its true around the board, with the possible exception of the track rims.
the LSD is good, but the nismo is better, brembos are good, but stoptechs are better, track rims are exceptional, but many who buy rims do so for wider tread which the track really doesnt have.
its all a tradeoff between financing package mods vs buying aftermarket, vs resale value on replaced parts(you can sell your brembos, cant sell stock brakes; same for track rims, their worth more).
enthusiast is a great start for 90% of people, base is if your a serious track guy; its your track only car, homelink HID ect doesnt matter, you want the least weight and you need aftermarket LSD and everything else. performance IMO is one of the least useful, it adds 18" rims that are heavy, and VDC. eh, Id rather the enthusiast all things equal.
touring has its niche with the leather heated seats, heated side mirrors, bose stereo(even if it does suck, I think its fine, but Im a stereo noob).
track is the financed track car. for the guy that doesnt want to get his hands dirty modifying, not extremely serious about racing, he might also not really plan to race it, rather just feel like he could.
my fun little stereotypes do not apply to all; lots of bases never get modified, lots of tracks that have neither their brembo brakes nor their rays rims still equipped. and Im sure plenty of tourings and performances that see the track more than anything else.
No doubt, Enthusiast is the best buy. That's what I intended to get. But I wanted a Brickyard (color) without spoiler & I wanted it "now" (December, 02). There was not an Enthusiast in all of Cali in 12/02 that fit the description. But there was a Performance model that fit the bill at a dealer 300 miles south. Bingo!!!!
The Performance adds 18 inchers, VDC, & tire pressure readouts to the Enthusiast. I'm still in luv with my Brick but would also still be if it was Enthusiast model. (Though I do think the 18s are really cool looking now that I've lived with them for awhile.)
what most people said here are very true, I wanted to get an enthusiast if I could, but only performance/touring/track are offered here in Canada, so I ended up getting the track...
I have the enthusiast, and I couldn't be happier. The homelink is the universal garage door opener on the mirror which by the way is electrochromic (base mirror isn't)

i actually was planning on getting the enthusiast roadster and getting aftermarket leather and stereo upgrades. they only had the touring on the lot and they gave me a good deal (at the time), so i went with the touring.
if i could do it again, i would definately go with the enthusiast.
I got the performance I love it. It all depends on what your needs and preferences are though. I had mine narrowed down to either the performance or the track. The brembos are nice but I just couldnt justify the extra money for the track over the performance. Reason I took performance over enthusiast was because of the VDC and 18s
