Blow Dry - Leaf Blower

Does anyone use a leaf blower to dry their car? Pros/Cons?

Are there specially designed products for this purpose (non-commercial) ?

I use it to dry out the cracks and crevices in my car and especially the rims. I also use it to dry the engine after cleaning it and exhaust. As far as drying the whole car, it takes too long for me do it using the leaf blower. I do it by hand.

Pros:
-can get into the cracks
-makes drying the rims easier
-reduces the possibility of marring the paint surface during the drying process

Cons:
-takes longer

I use one. I only use it on the rims, crevices for the same reason shaun123 said. It takes to long to dry the entire car. But it works really well on the wheels, mirrors or anywhere else water likes to hide.

Make sure its an electric blower. Gas blowers blow oil and crud out, not good for the car. Make sure the ground is clean around the car so you don't blow rocks on the paint. I recommend at least a 200mph blower. Sears has them for like $50. Anything less than that and it becomes less effective.

I do all the time for wheels and cracks as well. Cuts the overall cleaning time down by a lot and takes care where the water drips even after drying. I wish my garage had multiple huge blowers like at the car wash place that would be sick!

I use the Air Force Master blaster. It filtered and heated air. This works great for me, check it out!

I don't know man, that's a little spendy for the intended purpose IMO.

Yeah the filtered and heated air is unncessary..

My shopvac has a leaf blower + vacuum all in one so it's a double for me.

Yup use my electric all the time...

Pros
•*No streaks after you you are done towel drying and open and close a door.

Cons
• Get's strange looks from neighbors.

Just be careful with the tip...if you get to close it sometimes sucks itself into your paint.

I also use a low pressure electric pressure washer to rinse before washing...get's all the brake dust, crud and bugs off before I lay a hand on it.

I dry my whole car with it. Where it sets on the ground without a filter it would pull dust and debris and throw it on your paint. Also for added protection it has a soft rubber tip so if you do bump it on the paint you wont damage it, and the heated air helps with the drying effect. Trust me, I have used a leaf blower on all my other vehicles but not this one. Nissan paint isn't the best anyways so I take all precautions. It cuts the time down using a leaf blower 3x. Well worth the money IMO

i have an electric craftsman air blower. i only use it for the crevices such as door handles, z emblems, side mirrors (i hate this part of the car) and wheels. I don't use it to dry the whole car. It would be impossible not to get water marks on a black car.

The only thing you have to do is keep wetting the car before you get to dry it.. As long as you keep it wet you will never have a problem with spots.. lolz

Black and Decker one for me... Dry with a meg water magnet and then blow out the crevaces and wheels and then blow out the water that sits at the top of the boot and then move round to the engine bay... great for blowing water out of the fuel filler and behind the mirrors..

Still sounds like overkill to me... but as long as it works for you and you can justify it, no skin off my back.
