So, currently (when released) PwnageTool 2.0 will support:-

iPhone (1st Gen) with 2.0 - Activated, Unlocked & Jailbroken, (with support for third party applications).

iPod Touch with 2.0 - Activated & Jailbroken, (with support for third party applications).

iPhone (3G) with 2.0 - Activated, Jailbroken (with support for third party applications).

We’ve made some progress on the baseband unlock of the 3G device, but at this point PwnageTool will not support 3G unlocking or BootNeuter on the 3G device. It is, of course supported on the first generation device with 2.0. We’ll push out an update with 3G support if and when it is completed.

Any way to get an iPhone 3g without going through the apple store? I'd love to get one, only thing is that I will never switch to AT&T. Trying to avoid signing up for any contracts or plans.

ya..buy the iphone and unlock it and then cancel the contract...there is no any other way yet....if u want u can buy it from ebay from other people..but u'll be paying more

It looks like you can purchase it from the UK and not have to get a plan. Only thing is, I read there is a fee if it's not activated within 30 days.

Too bad none of the older apps aren't ported over to JB 2.0 yet. I have all the files to JB mine but am waiting for apps to show up in installer.

ya , most of the older apps dont work for this new 2.0.

most of the apps will be released through cydia as cydia is an opensource, if im correct.

and the installer wouldnt matter, that's waht the _bigboss_ said at the irc.

basically what the pwnage tool 2.0 does is some sort of a hack, that allows you to customize your iphone to your liking. also, it allows you to unlock (not out for 3g yet) so you can use other network on it, for example, tmobile on your iphone.
