Finally got the red ring of death

And right when I had all my buddy's over for a game night before the UFC fight. We booted it up....it froze....then got the 3 light red ring. I was so fu*king pissed. Ended up running out to Best Buy to get another one real quick. I guess I'll keep the repaired one as a backup once I get it back. Does Microsoft touch anything that doesn't suck somehow??? I wish there was an alternative system that had FPS games that did 4 way split screen....I'd ditch the 360.

yea im on my 3rd Xbox... o well im glad they warrentied my 2005 luanch system(first one) even though it was way out of warrenty(last year). then i ended up just selling that one and buying brand new HDMI pro last nov.

Not with 4 people at the same time I won't. The 360 has Halo 3 and COD.....4 way split screen is a must.

I had to buy a backup......I guess when you wanna play 4 way split screen games the only choice is a 360....and you have to shell out $300 to have a spare

Nope....I'm pretty much FPS or driving games.....stuff I can pick up and play for just like 30 minutes at a time or with friends.....

Bought a first gen 360, haven't received mine.

Upgraded the fans, took off the heatsinks and put artic silver on it, took off the cooling plates to help improve airflow, keep it raised off the ground, etc.

for those braggin on the ps3 lifespan...8 months in, and my BluRay drive crapped out on me. Sure, no red ring of death...but all the sudden I had a 500 dollar DVD player...do some searches on it...for whatever reason, it hasn't been given the coverage that the red ring of death has, but it's a fairly common problem out there apparantly....

jackie chan's drive crapped on him too... I've heard of that problem but it seems to go unheard. I remember jackie chan posting his drive died in the same thread twice but everyone ignored it

How are you xbox guys getting red ring after the fix. I had it once, sent int to MS to fix..Never had it again; And the unit stays one for faaar longer than it did before it broke. Don't understand how after fixing, people are still getting red rings on fixed units. Where are you guys placing the console, in some closed space with no ventilation or something.
