Its doing the same thing that people did with the wiimote about a year ago. It uses the accelerometers built into the iphone as a pseudo gtech.

damn you, I don't have an iphone...saw "for your ipod" and was thinking. "I need that". but NNNOOOOO...stupid cingular, err ATT doesn't care about existing customers...now I'm sad.

well, I downloaded it and ran it quickly this morning. cool little app, but it can be improved on.
Found a long empty road this morning (where I live, there are a lot) and just took off from a stand still. No revving or anything, so it wasn't a "launch" by any means. I didn't want to go the full 1/4 mile as I was nearing 100mph, so the stats are only to 1000' with the cars weight entered at 3320 and 0% for drivetrain loss, so the number is supposed to be the "at the wheels" number, which is why its so low. I guess with a few more runs, the numbers can get pretty close to what the car is capable of. ![]() ![]()

Its probably low since you only entered 3300 lbs. You have to include your weight as well.
The most accurate way to tell is if you go weigh yourself with a full tank at a truck stop or something. |
