So how do they play burnt games
Im here in Korea and there are alot of shops that sell burned movies and games. I was wondering how they burn the games to get it to play on a ps2? I know that they download it from a torrent but what kind of cd's or program do they use to put it on a cd? Also what would you need to do to the ps2 to make it play those burned cd's? I am asking how they do it

I don't know what you would use - a mod chip or something?

yes mod chip is required. its a simple job to install the chip and you can play all burned stuff. the mod chip is also required to play Japanese original games. i remember that was the case with TK4 everyone wanted the Japanese version. |

yeah, you need a mod chip like the DMS4. They have a pretty neat version where you don't need to do any soldering, just snap it onto the chips and u're set. I have an older DMS3 I have it on my PS2, works great, but the installation was a b*tch, soldering 22 30AWG wires. They have new improved ones out now.
You can even hook up a hard drive to it, and rip games into the HD and just play off of that instead of using disks. And other cool features.

When i was in Thailand in May they had any game/cd/movie imaginable for 600 baht. $12 USD. Figured i would get home and they wouldn't work though.

you can get the CDs and movies to work, if they're DVD they might be with a different region code. Or some with region free dvd playback. You just need a DVD player made by china to play these. haha Sony/Panasonic stuff we have here MAY not work.
As for games, u need a mod chip for console games, and PC games should work ok (just hope it's not in Thai haha). I've gotten a few things in the past from asia. They still sell these bootlegged things, just have to know where to look haha
