Default Driveway motion detector?

Hey guys... I want to get a motion detecting alarm/lights for my driveway and I was wondering if any of you have such a thing or any other type of security to protect your precious Zs? I don't have a garage and I think I should get some sort of security...

I was looking at this one: http://www.gadgetshack.com/reporter.html

I have a clifford 2 way paging alarm/remote start, 1 mile range. worth the money imo. you'll be able to protect your car at locations other then just at home. you'll be able to go into a movie theatre without worry etc

love it.

not that youll care much for remote start, but damn it was nice in mornings like this one. 20 degrees out, snow and ice everywhere. nice and toasty by the time I got to it.

Yea I was thinking of alarm but then again I was thinking if the thief is really good... he could bypass/disarm the alarm, no?

I'm in FL so remote start is not as needed as in colder states but it would be a real nice to have either way!

Remote start on the is a win win even in the summer. You get into a nice cool car. lol

I have a Compustar alarm system 2 way pager good for a mile to. Doesnt void factory warranty and has auto start for my stick shift car. Love the alarm I have motion shock and proximity sensors. It was a bit pricey but so are the wheels that were already stolen from me. I also have surviellance cameras now.

chances are a good thief will steal your car if he really wanted it. a Z is not really the target of someone *that* good though. they'd be going for something worth the trouble

there are sensors and cut offs everywhere. it would really be a hassle.

remote start is safe too. you have to put the key as normal and flip it to on in order to move the car without the engine dieing. if you have it remote started and you pop the hood, engine dies. glass breaks or a sensor goes off, engine dies. press the break pedal, engine dies.

I found a local installer that does jobs on the side, my system ran me about 550$ which was right around half cost from local shop quotes for the same system and features.

How much did the alarm cost you? I'm thinking of getting some wheels in near future and I live in somewhat not so nice neighborhood so getting wheels without alarm or something would be a no no...

If you got what you posted a link for would you have it trigger a light, alarm, etc. or just send a signal to your receiver inside your home?

I've got motion sensitive lights in front of my garage that are extremely bright for security measures.

I'm not sure, I just picked a random one from google, but I saw some other ones that would trigger a light and alarm.

I have motion sensitive lights too (not the real bright ones though) but I think alarm would help out more.

Agreed. My car is basically bone stock so I don't stick out much. If I had exhaust and wheels though, I'd invest in an alarm.
