Awesome. Just in time for Android 2.0 (Donut) to come out to offer us a bunch more features. This time around the marketplace should be built up well enough unlike when the G1 was launched. It looks a lot better than the G1 too but I actually liked the slide out keyboard... would have to get used to typing on the screen.
the funny thing is i check for any shipping updates last night before bed. I check this morning and it shows it shipped yesterday and will arrive today!
We've had em at work for a few weeks now and I'm switching my G1 for it. I agree the keyboard on the G1 is nice but the Mytouch is much more comfortable and has a better battery life. The touchscreen keyboard does take a little getting used to. After 5 or so messages with it you more or less don't mind it.
well i received mine today. I installed the Zagg invisible shield on it so i havent been able to play with it at all. I will let you try over night then i will go crazy with it!
Mine came with a plastic screen protector I installed...
I started using it rite away!
All the apps that you PURCHASED from the market (if you are a G1 user) show as "Purchased" in "My Downloads" in the Android Market so you can quickly download those to your new phone!
Any FREE apps, you need to search for to install...
Every app I had on my G1 works on the MyTouch and the MyTouch sure is faster!
Im getting used to the on screen keyboard... I am not as fast on it as I am on the regular G1 keyboard, but the auto complete is very helpful!
Serpa is a very cool app, I see the potential but have not used it yet...
If you have a MyTouch be sure to download the T-Mobile App Pack! It comes with some cool programs...
T-Mobile now has visual voice mail for the MyTouch! (its in the App Pack)
so I cancelled my "PF VisualVoicemail" account so now people hear me instead of a recorded message...
"WorldTour" app is ubber cool! It updates your desktop wall paper with a web cam image of your choice! they have some pre-set that you can select or randomize... I have it set on a satellite earth view of earth! You can have it on the Statute of Liberty, Ground Zero, Boston Harbor, even a Japanese Laundry mat!
Besides that its pretty cool... The phone is much smaller in your hand than the G1... MUCH lighter...
The larger track ball is very nice, and it lights up when you receive a call!
So far its an A+

buy from T-Mobile... they wont release an unlock code anytime soon im sure.. maybe in a couple of months...
I paid $500 for mine since I just recently used my upgrade credit for the G1... but its worth it... (I'm used to paying 800-1000 for unlocked world GSM phones)...
I am not sure the bands the 3G uses on the MyTouch yet... so not sure if the 3G will work on AT&T...
The G1 3G wont work on AT&T... hehe

Yeah I just upgraded and can get this one for $200(been with t-mobile for 13+years back when they where powertell). I wish I was still a Vendor for them because I could get phones for next to nothing(this one is probablly @ $50 for employees)
