I have three pairs of speakers outside around the house as well as three other pairs in the house. My objective is to either play all of them (outside and inside) from the same source or seperate sources (i.e. TV inside, iPod outside). I currently have a Yamaha DSP-1000 and a sonic speaker selector running the outside speakers from the DSP's second speaker output (B). I would also prefer to control the sound level of any pair of speaker seperately from the rest. What recommendations do you have?

This is great with the wall adapters and volume controls, but what about audio equipment?

The second (B) set can run them. You would not get alot of volume but for background music it is fine.
I am running a similar set up with my Denon. I have 7.1 in my main area and the Second Zone runs to a audio plate and branches out to 3 sets. My great room, back patio and kitchen. I am thinking about adding several other pairs but will most likely get a dedicated amp. I might go with the new Creston system that allows you full control with automation.

If you are looking at the Prodigy system I would highly recommend Control4 instead. I work for an integration company that sells both and the C4 gear is much more flexible and cost effective. Its also much less expensive to program.
i am in the same dilemna. i have my movie room in my basement with an outside door. right outside is a large patio where i am trying to put speakers. i have some outside now, but in order to hear them i have to have the stereo playing inside. i want to play TV audio, stereo, ipod, etc thru the main reciever to the ones outside.
im thinking about buying a second reciever and running it from the primary reciever then to the outside speakers, so i can have the inside setup with the volume down, and turn the volume up on the outside speakers with the 2nd reciever.
i have a denon AVR-985 and my outside speakers are on zone 2 right now.

The more I look into the Creston I agree. I have the same remote control that the Prodigy system comes with for my Denon and IT SUCKS!!!!!
Can you get me a deal on a Control 4? I like that there is a free app on iTunes...

No I cant get you deal. You need to find a local dealer. The Iphone app is killer. It's $300 but it gives you the functionality of a $1500 touch pad. *edit* The app is free but the license to use the app with your system costs $300 and you must get it from the dealer.
