Video editing software, recommendations?

Hi guys,

I'd like to know what I can use to:

• create a slide show with music background
• add to the slideshow any short video i want
• save as a DVD or avi file
• include text, effect etc

I'm using Corel movie factory 7, but it's crap. it doesn't allow you to build a slideshow and include a video in it, it's either a video OR a slideshow. They can both be put in the same dvd, but that's not the point, I want a software where I can decide how to edit the stuff.

User friendliness would be a bonus!

Windows Movie Maker <--- comes with Windows for Free and is easy to use
Nero Vision <--- very very good
ULead Video Studio <--- my fav

edit: i'm not 100% sure windows movie maker will do the slide show and video... but i know Ulead and Nero Vision does

Sony Vegas Pro is the **** but expensive unless you are active on a private torrent site and can get a keygen....lol
