Apple driving me crazy.
Whenever I click here at this site, I get the download desktop thing. Hard drive is filled with a dozen blank desktops. Just started a few days ago.
What are these things?
How do I prevent these constant downloads?

To this day I think the only time I ever opened Safari was to download Firefox.

What's the purpose of this post? To start another PC-MAC argument?

Disabled JavaScript. No spurious downloads.
But there is a problem. Sites such as Photobucket must have JavaScript enabled to operate.

OP, have you tried installing/reinstalling Safari.
If you really must use Safari, see if you can find and download an earlier version.

What kind of machine are you running Safari on? And just to verify, you are using Safari 4.0.3 correct?
I ask because I use the most current version of Safari and I've never experience the problems you are describing so I am curious as to if it is solely the fault of the software or perhaps a combination of reasons.

Looks like he's running Safari on an Mac. I'm using version 4.0.2 (4530.19) on my mac and have never experienced this issue.
