Buying new home surround sound need expert advice!
So I am buying a new home surround sound system I am thinking of sony bravia HDX285 or the logitech Z-5500 speakers. The logitech are computer speakers but can be used as home surround sound. Ive heard the logitech and it hits hard. My question is which one would you go with I am mainly for movies but on the weekend i throw quite a bit of parties so i need something that hits hard. thanks
I just went to Best Buy this weekend and bought a home theater system for my new 50" plasma. I didn't know much walking in, but was schooled by the dude who worked there. It ALL depends on what you want in it. I initially was looking into the all-in-one systems with the built in blu ray player. I found the sony and was impressed. As I was talking with him about it and asking more questions, the topic of inputs came up. If you are anything like me, you need quite a few. I have an xbox, dvd, cable, and a Wii. Those all in-ones do not typically have more than 1 input. No good. He brought me over to a sony reciever and pointed out that this was the way to go for everything I need. He explained if I wanted to do anything besides watch TV and watch a movie through the surround sound, I needed something along the lines of a multiple input system. Blue ray was a huge want for me as well. I ended up going for the sony bluray player and the sony reciever for about 590 total. It was the best decsion I made.
nice the onkyo seems pretty good i also heard there sound is amazing ima have to hit up a audio store to listen to it. So none of you guys have heard the HDX 285 before?
YOu might want to fully step up to the Onkyo 7.1 systems, most systems are now 7.1. Cost is a bit more but you won't be sorry & the i-pod dock is quite the bonus.
