I'm in the Navy and was volunTold to be sent overseas to the "sandbox" to play Army next month for a little over a year. I want to buy a laptop fairly cheap (~$500) because I'll be mad if I paided a lot and it gets broke or something in transient or something. I don't think we get first class mail and 100% internet over there, so a PC with a good warranty will be somewhat useless if I can't contact the company.
What do some of u PC savy people think about the smaller companies coming up like ACER, ASUS, etc?
All I need my laptop to do is play video games and have a webcam incase I get lucky and can use it to talk back home.
Seen most of those dont come with CD/DVD drives or webcams, but I saw some with them ranging $650. They look cool. I've been researching for couple weeks now.
