Finally caught up to technology! (Iphone)

Just picked up an Iphone 3GS (in black of course)! Bought a screen protector right away from the apple store (the clear static cling one had good reviews)

Now tryinng to decide which case to go with (if I even go with one)

Also if you guys have some good recommendations for apps just let me know!

Laosifu I looked at your cases. But I'm still deciding on rubber vs hard shell.

So far I've installed the following apps:

- Allrecipes
- Facebook
- Mint
- Pandora
- Google Earth
- Shazaam
- Espn Score
- Urban Spoon
- iTranslate
- mobiqpons
- Weather channel

Still looking for a better translator (preferrably one that translates to english pronounciations and will speak it), and a "to do list" app.

No problem just let me know. I got both the hardcover and soft oh and the flex case too

I actually perfer no case or cover and after owning it for a year I have no cracks or significant scratches.

Although, I am really anal with my things.

i have an HTC hero and imo it does more than the iphone i had before....
All the iphone is, is an ipod with a phone threw in... Its a great multimedia device but the phone portion leaves a lot to be desired...

Dont listen to this bullcrap OP. The iphone still is one of the best phones on the market. Android is cool but the appstore still makes the iphone superior imo.

Yeah its just an ipod with a phone. STFU. That is the most idiotic thing Ive heard in a long time. The Iphone has the best appstore out of any phone out currently BAR NONE. It has the easiest to use interface out there BAR NONE. Yeah the phone part is a little flawed but it isnt terrible. I have dropped maybe 1 call in the 5 months Ive owned the 3gs. The built in nav and gps are beyond awesome.

Im no apple fanboy but the iphone is a great phone. Saying anything less just shows your bias.

ha i never said it was awful, i just think my Hero is a better all around device... They are both huge technological marvels and yes the Iphone os is nice but have you used HTC's Sense UI for the android phones? The android market has tons of the same apps as the appstore but i do agree the iphone does have a 2 yr head start...

lol it's cool. I looked into the andriod vs iphone info, asked a couple of my geeky friends, and decided that Iphone is better for me since I'm not a huge tech-nerd, I won't be writing any of my own apps, and don't care too much how "custom" my stuff is. Frankly speaking, I looked at the mytouch and it just wasn't "fun" to play with.

So for the everyday goer who wants something cool to play with, the Iphone was good enough for me

i think CNN has one but you could always get a RSS Feed reader and use that for headline news...

I have been using the iphone since the day it came out and went through 10 - yes I'm NOT kidding...10 phones already. I love it! I checked out the android phone which is nice but I am not convince it's as sexy as the iphone yet. I might try it out for a couple days and see but as of now the iphone 3G in black is what I use

If you're look for headline news, try AP Mobile. It has push alerts for breaking news.

Android phones are great, i haven't played with one yet though looking to go check out the Droid, but not making any decisions till after June when the next iphone comes out.
