Walked into my genius appointment with my 5 months old MacBook Pro 13" that I got back in June (first wave of the new unibody MBP) that is having heat issues and keeps on hanging on websites and having connectivity issues.
20 minutes later, got my brand new MacBook Pro 13" replacement with another full year warranty on this new unit <3!!! How many companies makes it THAT easy to get a new replacement unit with zero downtime?!
Went home, plug in my 500 gig Time Machine external and within an hour I got all my data down to the settings on my mousepad back!

lol. yeah, my pc support is pretty equal with dell at work. I support myself at home : P
I like how the 'genius' bars are never actually smart enough to resolve the issue with your unit and they seem to always just lean towards swapping the defective unit for a new one. I support some macs at work and that's always been the case.. they haven't fixed any of the issues I've thrown at them, just replaced it.
at least they make it hassle free though eh? I think the genius bar title should be reserved for wherever they send the defective units to, you know.. the guys that actually fix the broken stuff. :P
Being on the support end of Mac based enterprise, the Genius bar can be horrible. For the average consumer it's great, unless you have blemishes on the case of your computer. They can become a real pain in the ass if you have anything cosmetically wrong ( and with a brushed aluminum case, this is extremely hard not to accomplish)
I am scard to walk into the apple store!! It does not matter what day and time I go it is always busy.. But the last time I went cause one my of iphones was not turnning on (made no appointment, just walked in). I spoke to one of the peeps up front and was told I needed an app then she changed her mine once I told her I had a 350z (lol j/k) but really she asked one of the genius to take a look really fast. Genius asked me a few questions then went to the back and came out with my new iphone!! FTW..
i remember i got a new iphone becuase my original one had specs of dust under the screen which was annoying so i guess that was cool. i watched as they told the lady next to me to take a hike becuase there was "grease" on her keyboard on her 2 year old $2500 laptop.
