Butter bread and cut into small squares, cutting off bread ends
Pour milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, rum, vanillia, beaten eggs in a sauce pot and heat on lower stove setting
Place a layer of bread in the baking dish
Place rasins over bread
Pour heated mixture from sauce pot until bread is soaked
Repeat steps 3 to 5 until all the bread is finished or baking dish is full
Garnish the top of the bread pudding with maraschino cherries
Let bread and mixture soak for 1 hour in baking dish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease baking dish with butter.
Line the baking dish with wax paper
Place the oven
Bake for 1¼ hours. You can test if it is baked by inserting a small knife in the middle until it comes out clean.
Once the pudding is out, let it cool for more than 4 hours.. or you can leave it in the fridge over night.. this is to ensure that the bread pudding sets inside...
Reheat after it has set and best served with Ice cream or whipped cream.

Thanks. Didn't know if it was some kind of cherry I didn't know about. I've screwed up a lot of recipes because I said, "Oh I bet they meant this." And they didn't!

I was attempting this dish, following the recipe and I got to #10 and #11 and I was like WTF? so I poured the mixture out, lined and greased the baking dish and poured the mixture back in....I think #10 and #11 need to be a bit nearer the beginning in the list of steps
