Been dating my korean girlfriend for almost 2 years now. Starting to realize how important Kimchi is to the koreans, her parents are moving into a new place and are planning on buying a kimchi fridge. Didn't know koreans were that hardcore about their kimchi lol.
$2600 for a refridgerator just to store fermented vegetables.......HARDCORE!
Not that I'm bashing on Kimchi, I like it. But man that's dedication lol. I remember when I met them for the first time, they had tubs and tubs of the stuff.

You dont really need a kimchi fridge, as we keep ours in the regular fridge. But when kimchi starts to get 'shuh' (over ripe), the smell can clear out a room. Then all the other food in the fridge smells like kimchi. So its nice to keep it in a separate fridge where it only stinks itself.
Kind of like keeping fish in the freezer. I hate it when my ice smells like fish.
