Cool NEW YORK Steak done right.

New York Steak simply seasoned with cracked back pepper and salt then grilled served with roasted red potatoes with shallots, garlic, and thyme, and sauteed spinach with garlic and finished with parmesan reggiano.

the secret to a perfectly cooked steak is get your grill as hot as possible. my grill was around 650 when i put the steaks on. then when i turned them i drizzled the steaks with some oil to make the grill flame up to get them nice and charred on the outside.
i cooked them about 4 mins on each side for a nice medium rare. then once you take them off of the grill let them sit for at least 5 mins before cutting into them. notice in the last pic there no pool of bloody juices.

cheers.

Kudos to you sir. New York steak FTMFW. All you need on a good steak is some fresh ground s&p.

Hey Sugar where did you buy your steaks at? They look like USDA Prime and I cannot find cuts like that around here.

Looks great BTW.

+1. Just make sure it's cast iron like the one in the photo. Holds the heat and heats evenly. Be sure to turn stove fan on high....You're gonna have some smoke
