Default Dragging 5AT

Does anyone here drag 5AT? If so, do you use auto or manual mode? And one more question does anyone have a 5AT with valve body upgrade?

Thanks, Gary

Yes there are members who race the automatic. Read previous posts for suggestions. Don’t expect to see any time slips.

david I think your middle name should be "time slip." I promise, David when I get to the track I WILL POST MY TIME SLIP FOR YOU and everyone!

The auto can be very fast....I will be getting a VB upgrade, after I get my UTEC and Cams installed.

I have not showed time slips due to the fact that I'm scanner illeterate
My best has been:
r/t - .520 (.500 is best)
60' - 2.16
1/4 - 14.3@ 98mph on street tires
However, now I'm on 100 shot.......reflash and tune is next!!!
UpRev in Austin...check them out!!!

That plus the 3.5 final drive and KJR pulley.

That slip was actually without the spacer and pulley.

Yeah, Im considering that and a higher stall torque converter to use with some drag radials. With streets tires I get just a little too much spin off the line now. I went this past weekend and ran a 14.34 @ 97.x with a 2.1 60ft. (dont have the slip scanned)

Here's a few tips: 1/4 tank gas, 36 psi all tires(works for me), stop lamp fuse pulled(for burnouts), tcs off, spare tire & tools removed, small burnout in auto mode(just to clean the tires off), brake launch 2500rpm's, hit the gas on the 3rd amber light, manual mode shift at red line. Anyway that's what works for me, practice and find out what works for you! I'll be adding a pro- torque converter & sgp valve body soon. Here's my time slips and a video I made. Good luck!

How do you do a burn out in auto mode? Also, are pulleys worth it in the 5AT?
