Higher gears put more torque load on the clutch because of the lower torque multiplication of the drivetrain (for those who read this and don't understand).

When I failed my stock clutch setup I had to go through a similar experience driving home.

How does multiplying by a smaller number ("lower torque multiplication") yield a higher number ("more torque load")? Could you explain this better?

I figured it was due to the speed of the gear shift in addition to the surge of power/torque from the nitrous that glazed up the clutch. Of course, since the clutch had glazed over, shifting into 3rd wasn't going to make it better. And after this point, the clutch wouldn't grab even off idle.

Needless to say, I coasted down to the emergency exit on that run. In fact, yesterday was the first time I came home with half the time slips showing ET slower than 14 seconds, most of them being in the upper teens and lower twenties.

I'm aware........I should have said it is strange because it only (never once on the street) does it at the track. Also, I can sometime get one, maybe two, passes before it is completely shot. It isn't always consistent. Nonetheless......a new clutch is needed .

Sound like me......I coasted to two 15.0 at 55mph. I'll just hold off until spring I suppose.

I drove a Lexus IS-F a couple weeks ago. They go good, but I can't see paying $60K+ for one. If I pay that much I want it to look like a fast car. lol

Any way that guy seemed kinda busy to talk so I didn't say anything to him. I would definitely like to go to the track with other Z owners. Yesterday there were 2 Bmw 335s both significantly modded, looked the exact same white color looked sick as hell lol were putting down good times 12.8s-13.4s@105-110s. Any way the DE 350z run is the last run against my friends Lexus IS F check it out.

Hey Franky,

I think I was talking to you about a month ago, the last time I was at Cecil. I have the white 08. I'm might be going back one more time this year, possibly this Friday or Saturday.

When are you planning on going?

Phil

Oh yeah yeah you were the guy with the White 350z and I was sitting inside my car like a little girl because it was cold while you were chit chatting with my buddy with the IS-F lol damn I didn't know you held the quickest 350z record. Well yeah he and I will most likely go to Cecil on Saturday I think doors open at 9 am if anything private message me or email whatever i'll give you my number we can try to meet up. I'm not a huge fan of Cecil, I like MIR a lot better they're a lot more professional. That night at Cecil they were BSing around and closing lanes plus I was not gripping at all. I feel like they're kind of stingy with the VHT sometimes blahh.

I might even go to MIR because after the gamblers race at MIR you get to do like literally 7-10 runs minimum lol its freakin awesome! What do you think is better cecil or MIR? keeping in mind Cecil takes a **** load of time to clean up sometimes and are real stingy about VHT in my opinion so grip has always been an issue for me there. Would you be able to come to MIR if i decided to go to MIR on sunday?

I haven't run at Cecil before, but the times coming out of there are pretty stellar. MIR is arguably the best track on the east coast (right up there with englishtown, etc).

I might can make MIR on sunday if I can get my car tomorrow or friday. Come on out AJ and Mike one last time.

I think it would be fun with 13sec z's duking it out (I drive a G though)

I'll be on street tires unfortunately, but I will try to beat my 13.49 1.933 60ft PB on street tires.

What time are you planning to go?

Every time I go to Cecil at night, I swear I'll never go back. Every 5 minutes, one or both lanes are closed. And like Franky said, the prep was been very poor. Last 3 trips down, I ran a maximum of three times per night

I hope Saturday is much better

I'm most likely going to Cecil Saturday but Pat said it man Cecil is HORRIBLE with their track preps, they're stingy as hell and ridiculously unprofessional with their clean ups. Something happens they close one lane for literally an entire hour. However my boy wants to go to Cecil so i'm going there fo sure, SATURDAY in Rising sun, MD Cecil county dragway i'll be there at 9 am. Runs start at 9 am - 4 pm I believe. It's going to be a Blue HR Z hopefully the conditions will be nice enough for me to land some really low 13s and not some BS that happened at Cecil last time. Again sorry if i was misleading some of you guys by saying I might go to MIR, i'm going to Cecil fo sure so come on out. ($35.00 to enter so you won't see the crappy cars there most likely breaking down on the track like on Fridays).
